A perfect idea for a special occasion

As I was on my walk to the end of the point today, I found myself thinking about a photographer who was a household word in Nova Scotia when i was growing up. I’m sure there were very few homes that did not have a MacAskill photograph hanging in the living room (or parlor, as they say). I have no idea why I thought of him, but I suspect it is the usual chain of thoughts that happens to us all. An idea comes into our head, and it's one thing after another after that.

The reason I’m writing about this is that it occurred to me that the MacAskill photograph that we have was given to my husband when he left Xerox to go into the international seafood business.

What a good idea! Giving a piece of art to commemorate an occasion, whether it’s a move, a promotion, a retirement……a new business?

I’d like to suggest a painting of mountains and lake for someone who loves the outdoors, goes hiking and camping with family. Or of a beach in Maine for the person who longs for the sea as they live their lives in a place far from the ocean. A hollyhock or lilies for a gardener? The perfect one might be on my website right now. Or a commission of a special place could be the perfect solution.
