Experiments with Watercolor & Fluid Acrylics
This workshop will be really fun and
exciting! We had a very productive time in the January session; much excitement about trying the new techniques. And of course, as always I get new ideas too - so come along!
I’m planning projects that are intended to give you the opportunity
to explore new ways of using watercolor in combination with fluid acrylics, as
well as using the acrylics in a transparent watercolor manner. We’ll also
explore some of John Singer Sargent’s methods using Chinese white, wax and
opaque, neutral mixtures. Remember, it’s been said that
“Sargent’s watercolors glowed because of what did NOT glow”.
Fluid acrylics, hot press paper and reference materials
will be provided. Please bring your watercolors, brushes, palette, and 6 half
sheets cold press paper.
Please bring your lunch, and we will provide beverages
and dessert as well as coffee, tea, muffins, cookies in the morning and
