 An opportunity to add to your art collection and support a children's hunger prevention program

Featuring the Sewell Family of Bowdoinham with a beautiful collection of folk, country, bluegrass and Celtic tunes from 2:00 to 4:30 pm

Paintings, refreshments and music, just come along, bring your friends and enjoy an afternoon of fun and conversation. Sit on the old-fashioned swinging seat, the Adirondack chairs or just stroll through the field.

Learning of this "Backpack" program that operates through the Mid-Coast Hunger Prevention program really hit home to me and I want so much to be able to help in some way. Just thinking of children going home to a place with no food for dinner or breakfast really breaks one's heart.

Like most of us, I can't write a big check BUT I have learned that I can use my work to support things that are important to me. And so, please read on:

There will be a large collection of original watercolors and limited edition giclee prints available.

A unique opportunity is offered for this event only: 20 original paintings regularly valued at $500 - $750.00 each will be priced at $350.00 in an effort to raise money to support a children’s food program that is serving hundreds of Maine’s school children.

15% percent of sales from these paintings, and all other sales as well will be donated to the “Backpack” program that sends food home with children after school so that they do not go hungry during their time at home. Using a backpack saves a child from experiencing the humiliation of other students knowing they are receiving assistance. Please read more about this program here:


Evelyn Dunphy’s watercolors passed to the third level of judging in the World Watercolour Competition and are presently being exhibited in “ American Waters” at the Lyme Art Association, Lyme, CT and in “ Marine Masters” at Art of the Sea Gallery in South Thomaston, ME as well as at North Light Gallery in Millinocket, Maine. Her work has been exhibited and given awards in many national and international exhibitions. She works and teaches in her studio in West Bath.
