I'm very happy to tell you that
our 2017 Guest Artist is
President of the American Watercolor Society
June 19 - 23, 2017
West Bath Seaside Grange Hall,
75 New Meadows Road, West Bath, Maine
To register for the workshop, please send an email to me at firstname.lastname@example.org, or call 207-443-5045 (home) or (cell) 207-449-7057.
The goal of the workshop is to show the untapped power of watercolor. The focus will been how to approach this medium from a contemporary point of view: powerful, emotional and delicate, not the traditional transparent way it is looked upon.
Antonio applies watercolor in a thick and juicy manner, giving the subjects a startling boldness. Learn how attention to details and unusual perspective make for poetic, moody works with strong textural qualities.
Antonio's presentation will show the materials he uses (paints, paper, palettes, brushes, etc.), his set-up, and how he applies colors. He will demonstrate a modern approval to watermedia while the students watch and ask questions. The remainder of the day will be one on one instruction. He hopes this will give an insight into the techniques. Students will work from photos; their own paintings, sketches, and imagination. The aim is for each student to discover and be inspired to find their own style.
